Airport: Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) is located approximately 20.5 miles north of Houston's city center, providing several transportation options to downtown and the George R. Brown Convention Center. Airport information is also available by calling IAH at 281-230-3100.
Transportation to and From the Airport
- METRO bus. METRO bus route 102 offers a direct connection from IAH to downtown Houston. The bus runs approximately every 30 minutes from 5 a.m. to 1 a.m., seven days a week. The trip to downtown takes about 50-70 minutes.
- Ride apps. Use your preferred ride share apps for pick-up and drop-off at designated areas at each terminal. Ride share pick-ups are located on the arrivals level, and drop-offs are allowed on both departures and arrivals levels.
- Taxis. Taxis are available 24/7 at each terminal on the arrivals level. The taxi ride to downtown Houston and the George R. Brown Convention Center typically takes 30-45 minutes.
- Shuttle services. Various shuttle services provide shared or private rides to downtown hotels and the convention center. Shuttle services can be prebooked or arranged upon arrival.
- Rental cars. Rental car facilities are available at IAH, with shuttle service to the Rental Car Center. Driving to downtown Houston from the airport generally takes 30-45 minutes.

Rail: Amtrak and the Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County offer rail service in and out of the city.
- Amtrak trains depart from the Houston Amtrak Station, located at 902 Washington Ave.
- The Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County operates the light rail system in Houston. The METRO rail's Red Line runs through downtown Houston, with stops near key locations including the George R. Brown Convention Center. To reach the convention center from the METRO rail, you can disembark at the Main Street Square Station or Convention District Station.
Weather
Expect mild weather with a mix of cool mornings and pleasant afternoons in Houston during February. While snow is very unlikely, temperatures can vary, so it's wise to check the weather forecast before packing.

- Visit the Museum District, which includes the Houston Museum of Natural Science and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston.
- Cheer on the Houston Rockets for a basketball game at the Toyota Center.
