Are you a student member of APTA and excited to be part of the 50th Annual APTA CSM?
APTA is looking for 175 student volunteers and 75 backup volunteers. Sign up opens Thursday, Sept. 12 — and this year, we're using a random lottery system to make it fair for everyone. The portal closes Oct. 6 or when we reach capacity, so mark your calendars! All applicants chosen to volunteer will be notified via email no later than Oct. 31.
Volunteer Responsibilities and Considerations
Responsibilities
- Assist attendees with badge scanning, room monitoring, and navigation at three conference locations.
- Help with poster check-in, registration, and the APTA CSM Events app.
- Serve as a student volunteer coordinator (three solts available: convention center, the Hilton, and the Marriott):
- Lead on-site communication and fill last-minute volunteer slots.
- Manage A/V needs, ensure scanners are occupied, and distribute t-shirts.
Time Commitment
- Attend a mandatory virtual training session on Wednesday, Feb. 5, at 7 p.m. ET.
- Volunteer hours: 7:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 13 through Saturday, Feb. 15, with the possibility of a Wednesday afternoon assignment.
- Each day includes three to four shifts, lasting roughly 1 to 1.5 hours each.
Participation During CSM
- Volunteers can attend sessions but may be 30 minutes late due to duties. Full participation is allowed once shifts end.
- Explore the exhibit hall during unopposed hours.
Volunteer Benefits
- Receive a $210 reimbursement of the early bird registration fee* and a free APTA CSM volunteer t-shirt.

*Maximum reimbursement per student volunteer is $210; the remaining $80 of the registration fee is nonrefundable.

Volunteer Portal and Application Process
- Log in with APTA credentials to submit your contact info, t-shirt size, and preferred section.
- After signing up via APTA Engage, you will receive a confirmation email with an additional link to sign up via the APTA CSM volunteer portal.
- New this year: Volunteers will be selected through a random lottery to ensure fairness.
- Notification of acceptance by Oct. 31; must register for APTA CSM before the early bird deadline on Nov. 6.
