McMillan Lecture and APTA Specialty and Proficiency Ceremony

Join us for the 56th Mary McMillan Lecture, delivered by Terry Nordstrom, PT, EdD, FAPTA, emeritus professor in the Department of Physical Therapy at Samuel Merritt University in Oakland, California. Read more about Nordstrom.
Following the lecture, stay for the APTA Specialty and Proficiency Ceremony, where we will honor the physical therapists who earned specialist certification from the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties in 2024 and the physical therapist assistants recognized for advanced proficiency in their specialty areas.

Join us for a memorable evening of community and fun at Pitch 25. The PT Fund Celebration of Diversity is an inclusive annual gathering, sponsored by APTA, APTQI, HPSO, CORA, and WashU Medicine - Program in Physical Therapy, directly supporting the PT Fund and contributing to the Minority Scholarship Fund, which helps advance the profession by providing scholarships to underrepresented communities. Enjoy food, drinks, dancing, and great company. The event has raised over $1 million in scholarships, promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in the physical therapy profession.

Kick-off each morning with coffee, snacks, and networking, while hearing expert insights on career topics like job strategies and professional branding. For Friday and Saturday, coffee starts at 8 a.m. in room 351, and the presentations start at 9 a.m. in room 361.
Marquette Challenge Student Networking Event

Since 1989, PT and PTA students have raised more than $5 million for physical therapy research through the Marquette Challenge (sponsored by HPSO / CNA). To recognize and appreciate the year-round hard work you put in, the Foundation for Physical Therapy Research and co-host Marquette University will hold an exclusive student networking event at Truck Yard Houston. Come celebrate the winners of the 2023-2024 Challenge and gear up for the 2025 VCU-Marquette Challenge. There will be fun activities, including a live band, karaoke, and Ferris wheel!
If you plan to attend but haven't registered yet, please fill out the registration form. The first 250 registrants to arrive will receive one free drink ticket. Please stop by the Foundation booth #2125 in the exhibit hall to meet Foundation staff, learn more about the Marquette challenge, participate in a hands-on activity, and get advice on grant and scholarship applications.
